Gabay & Bowler is a women owned law firm, founded by seasoned big-firm lawyers located in New York City. We provide the quality and level of service expected of a large law firm at sensible rates.
Gabay & Bowler assists clients in litigations and investigations, contractual and business law issues, administrative agency disputes, intellectual property protection, and employment and non-compete matters.
Gabay & Bowler is described by The New York Times as thriving and lean, and identified by Women’s Wear Daily as the go-to firm for retail clients. The Firm’s co-founders’ entrepreneurial drive has been featured in The Wall Street Journal, NY1 News, and The New York Law Journal.
Gabay & Bowler is a certified Minority/Women Business Enterprise (M/WBE) by the City of New York.
Gabay & Bowler was conceived on the notion that there has to be another way to practice law and appreciate life outside of a big law firm environment. After six years as litigators at Proskauer, Sari and Anne Marie each had the benefit of perspective from time away from the firm – Sari to have her second child, and Anne Marie to clerk for Chief Judge Judith Kaye at New York’s highest court, the Court of Appeals.
Sari and Anne Marie quickly realized that they were most fulfilled and energized when they worked directly with clients, created unique and practical legal solutions, and at the same time pursued passions outside of law.
Recognizing the void in the legal market for their big-firm skills at reasonable rates, Sari and Anne Marie formed Gabay & Bowler in 2006. Today the firm’s success is a result of the partners’ dedication to clients, innovative approach to legal solutions, and business acumen.
Gabay & Bowler maintains an active commercial litigation practice, provides counsel on a variety of business matters (including intellectual property issues, contractual and business disputes, and employment and non-compete matters) and provides advice on insurance regulatory and coverage matters.
In addition to the firm’s attorneys, Gabay & Bowler has access to an extensive network of vetted attorneys that it collaborates with where appropriate. The firm’s fee structure varies depending on the engagement and includes hourly, flat fee and contingency arrangements where appropriate.
Sari Gabay works closely with entrepreneurs and established brands, from retail and e-commerce businesses to insurance salesmen and fashion designers, as outside legal counsel on transactions and litigations.
Anne Marie Bowler counsels clients in a range of industries – from fashion, entertainment, art, retail and e-commerce, to real estate, technology, and non-profits.
